Pestilence - The Cyborg

This project evolved from an exercise in mapping to an obsession with high detail metal work.

3D Construction

Polycount was not considered creating this model, I just dove into making extremely small detail everywhere despite it not really being seen. It was more of an entertaining exercise than for any other purpose. When it came to mapping the skin A really simple layout was done without relaxing UV's since it was just poly painted and only 1 seam was evident. The arms are constructed seperately. All of the metal peices bar the crotch and shins are procedurally textured. The tubes are also procedural.

2D Compositing

I rendered all my projects in Mental Ray. The final glamour shot was compiled using Beauty and Ambient Occlusion passes. Subtle touch-ups to the levels. All other shots are just raw Mental Ray renders or screenshots from Zbrush.
